Never look for a dress when you have an event coming up, I guarantee the entire process will be stressful and in my case I always get it wrong and end up not wearing what I have bought.
If you see a dress you love just buy it then and there. I bought this Tara Jarmon dress back in October as I had been looking for ages for a grown up, yet edgy, black dress.
It has sleeves, is fitted at the waist but at the same time forgiving due to the ruching. It is made from a great lightweight material which will take you from day to evening. The shoulders are fierce and are what lifts it out of the ordinary.
I have been shopping to a list, checking my wardrobe writing down what I am missing and trying to stick to it and not buy more statement shirts or random sweaters. It is the best way, just spend one evening going through your clothes. Sell the ones you don’t wear or which are just a bit tired. Note down what you are missing to finish an outfit ( usually tops) . Think about what situations send you into wardrobe melt down, for me it was those more formal occasions, where jeans or jumpsuits wont do and where I cannot be bothered to wear tights so shorter dresses just don’t work.
This dress is timeless and I know that when I haven’t a clue what to wear this dress can be pulled out. It doesn’t look exciting on the hanger but once you slip it on it just makes you feel great about yourself.
It moves beautifully and is super comfortable and for a generation spoilt by leggings and joggers this is paramount.
Tara Jarmon has replaced brands in my wardrobe like Sandro and Maje as the material and the finish are far superior and the brand is more of a leader than a follower. You are more likely to wear the pieces season in, season out as they are true classics.
Friday I will be sharing my Sales Shopping List and next week we will be looking at sharing 5 days 5 outfits to help dressing become easier in the mornings.
I have my eye on the following other pieces from Tara Jarmon, you can shop in store, or buy online.
