I was just starting to feel like I had enough of Isabel Marant with a sea of Dicker boots and white blouses popping up at the school gates. Then my super stylist friend Deborah recommended this trenchcoat called the Garnet.
“Wow” is all I can say! It is one of those pieces you know you will have for ever. It is a ‘flowy trench’, something I never thought I needed but have worn non stop since it arrived.
Why?
It is practical, waterproof, you can fold it away and it has a hidden hood. Even forgetting all that practicality, it just feels amazing on and swooshes behind you .You cannot help but feel glamourous and the best bit is it costs just over two hundred pounds- not bad for Isabel Marant.
I had a school lunch at the Langham, so for once was looking very dressed up in the daytime.
I bought the jumpsuit last year from Zara and I have tracked down a similar shape from Lindex ( a great reasonable online shop) in white. The shoes are Aquazurra– they just are so beautiful and though I love the High Street, sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and invest.
This trench reminded me of why I love Isabel Marant. It will be copied by the high street but she is the one to pave the way.
Mango have an amazing piece which is really similar, and if the full length is too overwhelming then try this one .

I have selected my favourite pieces from Isabel Marant. A lot of them are discounted from previous seasons so take a look. Avoid the obvious pieces and look for the amazing tailored jackets in particular.
