I love black, but sometimes all black is just too much and can be draining. Khaki green is the best way to break up black. We all fell in love with the military shirt and I live in mine, it is perfect for wearing over your gym gear or a white dress in the summer.
I have now realized how much softer a little Khaki jacket is, or a coat or even a pair of boots. When in doubt try pairing your outfit with Khaki… it adds a bit of edginess too.
This Derek Lam jacket came from Luxe Layers, they have a fabulous sale on at the moment.
The skirt is a find from Kensal Vintage, there is so much material and I love that it has pockets. It is worth following them on Instagram as they post all the great arrivals there.
I bought the shoes in Agent Provocateur, they are really comfy and I love the softness of the feathers.
The material is a thick velvet and for me this calf length is my favourite length, as I can get away without tights. I struggled to find something to wear with the skirt as I wanted to show off the waist detailing. I am wearing the Triumph body underneath and it gives such a smooth line. I love the contrast of the lady-like skirt with the more boyish jacket.
So invest in a bit of khaki, be it a jacket, sweater or coat and it will be your go-to piece. I love the idea of this Preen coat, shown below. It is an old season but this years’ is on sale at the moment.
Also, don’t be scared of skirts and give the midi a go if you haven’t already. Also, a cropped jacket is a great item to pair with high-waisted skirts or jeans.
I have a selection of khaki to hopefully inspire you!
