So sorry, been a bit quiet recently, hope you noticed…  I have been really busy, helping readers clear out their wardrobes before the sales start!  Email me if you want me to give you a hand and to get an idea of what we clear please check out NW8closet on Facebook.

I do update Shop Instagram and Wear What I Wear daily, so don’t forget to check these out.

My face fell off a cliff this year, not mentioning numbers but over 45! I went from a smug at 40 to looking in the mirror ( not just after a late night) and feeling like my entire face had fallen, the skin looked thin and my make up instead of improving things made it worse.

Thanks to the lovey Kate, at London Beauty Concierge, I have picked up a few additions that have made a huge difference to my make up and I have started experimenting more.

Layering is the key and the more moisture the better, I spend more on skincare and less on make up.

I have seen dramatic improvements by preparing my skin better before I apply make up. It means that I can use a lot less make up.

What I am Using:

I am using Juno by Sunday Riley after I wash my face and I let it sink in (it contains vitamin c for brightening) and whilst I am brushing my teeth, the heavy oil sinks in quickly and it works brilliantly under foundation.

I then top up with By Terry Baume de Rose (this is a phenomenal product as it adds a surge of moisture). Then, as I get dressed, I add a few drops of Hourglass primer.  It is the best primer I have ever used and contains SPF.

If I am working from home I use Dr. Perricone No Foundation Foundation as it is ultra lightweight but does actually offer enough coverage.

If I am going out I use Vanish by Hourglass, I use the ivory tone.  I dab it where I need coverage rather than putting foundation everywhere.

I then swirl the Hourglass make up brush with the tiniest amount of Farsali Gold Elexir (really less is more  otherwise you can look too oily), this makes blending so much easier.

I also adore the Hourglass lighting palette, I am on my third one and there is no better finishing powder, that I have tried anywhere.  Kevyn Aucoin does the best blushers and I adore the Neo Highlighter in Sahara.

Benefit is back on my radar and I now sort my brows with Zing Brow Shaping Set.  It has tiny tweezers to remove stray hairs, a powder to fill in your brows and a wax to keep them in place.  I also use the brow highlighter, also from Benefit.

I don’t use any eye shadow, just the Kevyn Aucoin bronzer in the crease of my eye to add depth.  The Mac extreme dimension mascara is the best that I have used and it doesn’t flake and is so easy to apply.

If I have to go out in the evening I remove my make up and always add Farsali Unicorn drops before my primer.

The two lessons I have learned from the experts is that less is more and to build up your make up rather than applying  thick layers.  These are the products that work for me and my advise is to really to focus on the canvas on getting clean plumped up, even skin and go light on the make up.

I would love to hear about any great products you are using and will share them with the Catwalk readers.
