There are so many new shoe brands out there at the moment so I have spent some time checking them all out to see which ones are really worth spending our money on, or to put on your summer sales list.

I try to avoid most high street shoes, when I  give in and buy them I have often never ended up wearing any of them!  Usually there is something slightly off with the shape or the material or they just cripple me.  I do still look though as sometimes you hit the jackpot.

That is why I buy most of my shoes from Vestiaire Collective, as I am happy to wait, and you can usually find most brands at discounted prices, like these Celine ballet flats I bought a couple of weeks ago.

With shoes you have to spend your money on the ones you are going to be wearing everyday, not the ‘once in a blue moon’ heels (which are mostly worn in the dark anyway).

I have a love/hate relationship with flats as I love the convenience but they also have to be comfortable.  I have sold so many pairs as I always end with blisters or that horrible ache at the ball of your foot…what is the point, I might as well wear trainers.

J Crew is a brand I have come back to for shoes because they are so comfortable and the price point is affordable (especially in the sales).

I bought two pairs at £40 each and have worn them non stop (I am hardy and never wear socks).

I also love the brand Mia Moltrasio, thank you Sana for the tip.

Celine is obviously the holy grail and I have tracked down the ballet flat to Vestiaire and they are like slippers, you can find so many preloved ones, you just have to be patient.

I also love the new shoe brands, such as Martiniano, I bought a pair of ‘nana’ shoes in the sale

In the summer I seldom wear heels and am looking out for a pair of mules and a pair of backless slippers by Mansur Gavriel.  The heel height is perfect, these can be worn non stop with jeans, shorts or dresses.  I also love Maryam Nassir Zadeh for the simplicity of her designs.  Both these brands are still holding their price in the preloved market which is a sign of a future classic.

So far Topshop has the best selection on line and I have ordered the slingback version in baby blue as the Celine ones just make my foot look too long.  I will let you know how I get on with them.  Dune and Mango are also brands to check out as they are, in my opinion, great at following the trends.

There is also the slingback following from Dior, and Gianvitto Rossi has some beautiful options and I am sure the high street will follow.
