I am a former lover of maxi dresses but with the odd exception, I have sold most of mine. I just looked in the mirror and felt they were ageing.  I love throwing on a dress, as it is easier than skirts and trousers, so I have started embracing the midi, as an alternative.

There is something more contemporary about the midi and it is easier to wear, as there is none of that falling over hemlines.  I much prefer a midi to a mini, as you get a glimpse of leg but not worry if your legs are not bronzed.

Bimba and Lola are one of my favourite places to look for dresses, they are so Prada, Miu Miu inspired but obviously a fraction of the cost. The dress I am wearing below is so well cut, it skims the body and is really flattering on . This dress is now sold out online but I am sure you can still find it in store. The brand has so many fantastic Midi Dresses, which are now all on sale.

Bimba and Lola Midi Dress

The Midi DressI love how the dress is cut, no back flab at all with the cut of the dress, which I normally worry about  with this kind of back detailing.

The dress has pockets which make it easy to wear,  I really much prefer a dress with pockets, they just sit better. This Bimba and Lola dress is the perfect length that makes it look so contemporary and fresh.
