There were so many articles about embracing exercise and a new fitness routine, at this time of year . It normally turns me off to be honest.

But this one is so different, so  I had to share it with you !

Having a dog, it is hard to fit in exercising him and fitting in a workout myself.

This is where Dogs and Bitches comes in , organized by Laura who is a really experienced fitness trainer , we met at Kenwood House  and she put us through our paces.

I love it being in the open air with a bunch of great women and Romeo my Cavachon had a whale of a time too.

It is a mix of power walking, squats , push ups and Laura brings the   bands to work on your arms.

It is such a great way for the dogs to socialize, we let them off the lead and I was so worried, Romeo would run off but all the dogs stayed  together. There was no fighting, I also picked up some great tips on how to call Romeo more efficiently. It was really useful to be able to get some  tips from fellow dog owners.

After a week of working on a computer it was a joy to get out in the open air ! When I walk on my own, I tend to be on the phone but this forced me to switch off completely.

Al the equipment is provided and it is somehow easier to get on with it in a group and surrounded by the gorgeous scenery . It is so efficient to work with your own body weight and being in the open air definetly helped by exercise harder.

It was hard work and we exercised all the problem areas if a very efficient manner and Laura is open to suggestions too.

Everyone was so welcoming and it was great to meet  new people, we all had our dogs in common and it was lovely not to talk about school, work  or children.

It is amazing how many exercises you can do with a simple bench.

I love that the technique was being checked all the time and below you can see we had to keep up with the pooches!

I was exhausted at the end and so was Romeo but it was a good kind of tired and a great way to kickstart the weekend.

This is the perfect way to exercise, get some fresh air and walk your dog, talk about multi tasking!! This is not a bootcamp, you can exercise at your own pace .

I am heading back on Friday, so keep an eye out for us !

For details contact Laura on 07802755440

The group meets every Tuesday and Thursday at the carpark in Kenwood House at 9.00, the session costs fifteen pounds, you must book with Laura in advance. If you are not in London, give Laura a call as she could help you set it up in your area.

I was wearing a cashmere hat by Rosie Sugden, they are in the  sale on her website at the moment in lots of glorious colours and a hoodie by Acne , again all in sale . Gymwear is by Michi.

She is hopefully adding a later class on a Thursday . Laura is happy to run a special class for you and your friends, just give her a call.
