It doesn’t feel like it but we all know that Spring is coming and I am desperate to dump the coats! It can literally happen overnight, not that it feels like it today with the snow..
Boyfriend blazers work so well as they are longer in length so you can get away with a lot more underneath (perfect in Spring where the day can start out cooler but then warms up).
I have bought a couple from a brilliant British brand called Planet. Although they have now closed down they made beautifully tailored jackets in great fabrics. They are so easy to pick up preloved and they look as good as the Marant ones. I chose the one below as I adored the fabric and it is so comfortable to wear, which I do under my coat now. If blazers are too structured, I never feel like wearing them but these ones from Planet are cut for comfort.
With Paris Fashion Week around the corner the Queen of the boyfriend blazer, Emmanuelle Alt, will be out in force and she really knows how to work a blazer! The new season Isabel Marant is gorgeous but it is expensive. However, Vestiaire have loads of preloved Marant online now.
Lets start with the new season – if money were no option I would buy the Raey one, I have been hankering after this jacket for over a year now and I adore the camel version too.
My top bet is to check out the range of Planet blazers on Ebay, take a bit of time to filter through and I guarantee you will find a gorgeous one. I found a size 14 UK for £7.99. This is cut very similarly to the one I am wearing below and the pattern is so like the Isabel Marant version that is out now but instead of £700 you can buy this one for £29. I also found a divine khaki one for £19 which is brand new or this one.
Etsy also have some wonderful vintage Gucci. I hope that the links will give you an idea of where to look but there are no short cuts, you have to search, but it will be worth it. Yes, you could find one on the high street and they will look good on instagram, but I promise, if you look preloved you will find something unique, special and with longevity. Otherwise I spotted some brilliant blazers on The Outnet which are worth checking out.
Don’t forget J Crew, perfect if looking for a blazer that doesn’t swap you I always buy mine from Ebay and I have added the link below. They are normally around £49 which is a fraction of the ‘new price’.
