The days are slowly starting to get longer and Spring seems not so far away. I have booked my Easter holiday and my thoughts now turn to dresses and skirts, so whilst the sales are still on I have started perusing what is out there so I can bring you pieces to buy now!
What makes it harder is that dresses have got so expensive. All the ones that I lust after cost over £1,000 but my line in the sand is £270. Ideally I want one dress in silk for special occasions and one cotton one for the Summer. This time last year I found the dress below which is from Talitha; it was down from £800 to £175 so this is the kind of piece (and deal) I am looking for again. It is a winner as it is classic with a twist and so easy to wear.
Lets kick off with Moda Operandi, just click on the following link. I have sorted the clothes that are on sale to include dresses and I always search low to high.
The highlights for me are:
This white dress by Alexa Chung is also such a classic and now fairly priced at £246 the link is here
I am stalking this dress, it is still a little expensive but if it drops a bit more I will swoop. It is a true show stopper! It is by Adriana Iglesias – I first discovered her dresses in Spain.
I tend to buy too many maxi dresses, and a great shorter length (but age appropriate style) dress is on my list. I spotted loads at around the £100 mark at Net a Porter. This one below from Celia Dragouni really caught my eye.
I also spotted this Anjuna one, also now on sale. These are the kind of dresses you can throw over a swimsuit and it is an instant outfit.
This See by Chloe dress is perfect to wear now. Layer with an oversized cardigan.
Or check out Draper James – I adore the cut of the dress below, and it’s cotton, which is essential in Summer.
Don’t forget the site Stylebop. It has so many Summer dresses from £50 – my favourite is this one below from the Three Graces
Matches currently have an extra 20% off on sale items and there are so many dresses to choose from. Again, select Low to High and you can find pieces such as the RAEY dress, featured below, which is such a bargain now. This dress will take you from the office to an event and is truly a show stopper.
I also love all the pieces by Daft and Thierry Colson, not to mention the array of skirts which you will pay a fortune for in a couple of months time. I really am obsessed about the Teija dress below.
My Teresa also has so many fabulous dresses that you should snap up – check out my Edit
Also, check out the Little Tienda sale, they have dresses like the one below, reduced to £50.
I also picked out a brilliant Spring Maxi from BASH – it is now on sale and slashed to just over £100. I love the wrap detailing, and the sleeves, and the fabric though viscose, is glorious.
There are so many amazing Spring and Summer dresses to snap up. The reality is it is so hard to choose one so try not to go for the low hanging fruit and find a show stopping dress that you will want to wear year in and year out. It is so easy to pick the lowest price pieces but sometimes it is best to really contemplate what you need and will wear the most.
The Raey dress is a great grown up dress yet you can dress it down and I adore the Adrianna Iglesis one but them my heart says the off the shoulder number from Teija.
Will let you know what I decide on..
