Those block heel boots are everywhere, I saw them last year and avoided them but this year they are so prevalent, I have had to take a proper look.
I dismissed the block heel because I felt, they added inches to my legs, that was paired with a skinny jean, now with the change to wider legged, cropped jeans and midi dresses, the boots for me suddenly look right and are much more wearable.
At the same time, there is so much choice which one is the one to buy? Yesterday I was chatting about this to Hannah, one of the most stylish mums at my daughter’s school and she helped me decide. We both loved the Gianvitto Rossi version but the price tag at over £600, is too much. I really love the idea of a navy pair to dress up my denim and make black dresses more interesting but as this is an investment, black is probably wiser.
Hannah is buying the Saint Laurent Babies, they don’t look exciting but for Saint Laurent they are well priced and I now have them and the navy Aquazzura version on my Sales Wish List. They are so simple but designed for comfort and they go with everything from jeans to dresses.
These are a true classic investment piece that you will wear and wear! I have trawled all the preloved sites and there are none to be had, always a good sign that the buyers are happy and keeping them. I will sell my Isabel Marant Dicker boots and wear these instead.
The originals are set apart by the gorgeous side zip detail and the round toe and block heel are in proportion. Last season was the glitter this year it is velvet!
The highstreet is awash with options and these are my favourites!
Dorothy Perkins have a great burgundy pair for £34 so you can take a risk and see how you get on, Dune have a fabulous navy pair which are so like the Saint Laurent Babies as do Office , River Island and Steve Madden.
