I love checking out what everyone is wearing on the School Run, I am lucky that at my son’s school, no one judges, what anyone has on. We just love to catch up and chat at the school gates. Seldom does the talk turn to the boys, which I think makes it so relaxed. I also know it is the best place to ask someone for advice.
It is Archie’s last year in the junior school and he has been so happy there and so have I . We hear so many negative things about schools but I adore my son’s school. He has been so well looked after, by the Headmistress Miss Anderson and all his teachers. There is a palpitate excitement at our School Gates, we love to catch up and plan the next night out . I am not sure if any one has seen me wear anything other than my gymwear.
What I love is that we support each other, this is our sons environment and we all feel blessed that we have picked up some great friends along the way. When I was trying to read up about schools, the sense of community was never mentioned or featured. All I can say, that The Hall has this in abundance.
Also I love that everyone is happy to support those of us who run small businesses and spread the word. Sara is one of the many, from the fabulous Aurora London , check out her exquisite bags. There is also no divide between those who go out to work or those who are at home or working from home.
You are as likely to see a Dad dropping as a Mum at The Hall.
We have all sorts of boys from the academically gifted, to the music talents, to those that love sport and those like my son who enjoy a bit of everything.
They are all valued and no one group dominates, in the main the parents realize it is their sons environment, not theirs and there is a desire to get on. Yes there are some very comfortable families but what you drive, where you holiday or live is not something, I or most of the families are bothered or talk about. Niceness, being fair, sharing and normality are much more valued characteristics.
I would to feature more schools, please if you are in London, contact me as we would love to pop along to your school gates!
The Hall Junior School, we will miss you! I know as the boys get older , there will be more pressure but I hope we can keep our sense of humour and share and support each other.
