I have never anything to wear when I have to dress up, because I hate tights, and short dresses are a no go for me in winter. This is why I love jumpsuits as you can get that dressed up feel without too much effort – but they are not always appropriate for every occasion.

I am perpetually on the lookout for great evening wear, and Maimie London are spot on trend with their silk suits. They use the best silks and the cut is sophisticated enough to carry off on a special night out.

Silk feels so beautiful against your skin, and keeps you warm in winter and cool in Summer. These pieces are trans-seasonal. 2015-11-03 15.42.32-1

A lot of silk separates are not flattering and have nothing to hold you in. Maime have cut their pieces to support the body and the trousers have a high waistband which fits beautifully. The trousers are also cut into the ankle to elongate your leg.

The pieces remind me of old Hollywood and you cannot help but feel glamorous when you put them on. The pleating on the top is exquisite and the oversized tie is so luxurious.

The separates come in navy, black and cream. I have invested in these pieces as they will work so hard in my wardrobe and when I do have to glam up, I have a ready-made outfit. A lot of evening outfits I have worn in the past are just not comfortable, and I am not willing to suffer when out on the town!

Check out Maimie London for the full collection. If you are interested in purchasing email them on Amber@Maimie.co.uk and mention Catwalkschoolgates.

This is not a sponsored post – I purchased these items myself.
