I have always hoped to find that one shoe that stops me lusting after more, and that goes with everything. After visiting Noreen Goodwin a couple of weeks ago and seeing what she wears, I have found it .
It is the Gianvitto Rossi Vamp! I saw this when it came out, but as I had bought this brand before and not got on so well with it I didn’t bother checking them out.
Why does the vamp work?
I think it is the fact that it is a cross between a shoe and a boot, so it gives you the delicacy of a shoe with the edginess of a boot.
The deep decolletage adds inches to your legs, and as these ones are peep toe they are much more comfortable than normal heels- I think because you can move your toes.
The brand is small fitting, and once I went up a half size the fit perfectly .
I love the suede finish; though the shoe does come in leather and there are a myriad of colours and patterns to choose from.
This shoe is as good with a skirt, as it is with jeans or a pair of leather legging- it is a true all rounder. This is the one shoe you can pack and it will go with everything. The simplicity of the design means that it doesn’t over power an outfit. You can see how it balances out the flamboyance of the skirt below.
It then adds interest to a simple jeans and shirt ensemble, really elevating the look. The softness of the suede and the delicate cut of the heel puts this on my list of the top shoes of all time.
They are an investment, but you can track them down on Vestaire Collective. I found an unworn pair for a fraction of the retail price. Create an alert in your size on the site so you get an email when the item comes in.
If you want the feel but are not ready to invest then check out this pair I found at Tk Maxx. Steve Madden also did a very similar pair called the Stellth, which may pop up on eBay. I cannot see the Tk Maxx ones online but they will have them in store- they are called Hot Soles and have a fringe detail on the back.
With 8 children, there has to be an option to a heel. Noreen loves Converse and New Balance and here are the ones left after her children had raided her collection.
Next week we will be looking at dresses, and I promise you there are some show stoppers to come. Thank you Noreen for letting us into your home and sharing all your hot tips with us.
I am compiling a top 5 shoes of all time list, so please email your favourites to firstname.lastname@example.org.
I hope we cheered up your Monday and wishing you all a great week.
