No, I haven’t lost the plot and gone under the knife or tried any crazy diets or treatments. I have at last found underwear that works!
Yes, it is true for years I went around buying a 34 B bra and, maybe at some point prior to hitting 40 and having kids, I was- but no more!
I was lucky to be recommended to Monica Harrington by a friend. She is head of Product Management at Triumph and there is nothing she doesn’t know about underwear.
Triumph is not a brand I had used before, so I was intrigued to take a look at the collection. Before I could try anything, I was measured by Monica who discovered that I was no longer a 34 B but in reality a 32D. I was not surprised, I had noticed that some of my bras were not fitting well and research shows that 76% of us are wearing the wrong size bra.
I had noticed that the straps in my bras were always falling down and the shape was not always flattering, I had an ’empty sack’ effect. I also know that I need control pants to help, when wearing a more figure hugging dress.
Triumph invest in research to make underwear that fits and is comfortable- this is German engineering at its best. They have discovered the magic wire, which makes those uncomfortable under-wired bras redundant. I have attached a video explaining how it works.
So get yourself measured and check out Triumph- the price point is around the thirty pounds level, so it is affordable.
What I can say is, after having tried on the range, that one of my top picks are the Velvet Sensation control pants and bra set in burgundy… never have ‘big pants ‘ looked so good. These pants do not leave a knicker line and you don’t end up with bulges somewhere else. They hold you in the right places. There are also loads of non-control pants for every day wear; the brand has something for all tastes, be it more sexy or sporty.
The Velvet Sensation Body is a miracle worker. It works on so many different levels- it holds you in gently and gives you a great smooth line in dresses and skirts. It is also so beautiful that you can wear it under a blazer.
The bra set and body have been gifted, but I love the brand so much I have convinced Monica to pop along to our Girls Night In tonight, with all of my school mums, and I will be purchasing the rest of the line. I will do a follow up on everyone’s favourites.
Triumph have kindly given Catwalk readers 20% off for purchases this week- use the code, which will run from the 16th of November to the 23rd of November.
The party season is well under way with all those problematic necklines. I will be ordering an amazing strapless bra, which is finished with the magic wire. I had struggled to find a good one until I tried this one by Triumph.
They also have great options for plunging necklines and halternecks too- these bras work and are comfortable. The last time I tried one of the stick-on bras (I am not going to mention who it was by) the whole thing fell off and it made for one embarrassing evening.
The second skin slip works so well at giving a smooth line under a dress or skirt, and shaves inches off your thighs and bottom- always a good thing in my book.
All the products are online and Triumph offers free delivery and returns but they are also stocked at John Lewis and Fenwicks
I was also given this link to a great charity that collects bras for women in African villages, so clear all those old bras out and send them off, and invest in a bit of Triumph. Check out Smalls for All .
