Myself and my friends talk endlessly about the dearth of good well priced tops. The high street is great, but I am going to be honest, when I head out at night I don’t really want to run into someone (young enough to be my daughter!) in the same top.
I want better; but I wont spend the crazy money that most of the designers are charging and this is where I think my blog differs from others. I have stalked all the sites and will share where I find those glorious designer pieces for less.
The top below is from Anna October. I spotted it this time last year but at nearly £500 it was out of my budget. Now they are reduced to £123 at Matches. Matches sales site is one of my go to places for finding great pieces. The trends are the same this year – shoulders out/puff sleeves so you might as well buy the previous season. Also, you won’t run into someone in the same top! The top below is a small fitting so I would go up a size. Just be a little careful as these tops are hard to wear under jackets. I just throw over a kimono sleeve coat or oversized denim jacket when the weather is warmer. They are useful when you go away as I tend to wear trousers in the evening (my fear of mosquito’s) and statement tops are perfect.
There are so many to choose from, just decide your uniform, mine is shoulders out or one shoulder.
The Outnet (haven’t bought from there in ages) have the most phenomenal sale on at the moment and are even an extra 15% off at the moment. It is worth buying one really beautiful top. You will cherish it more than the high street ones. I have bought one simple white one shoulder vest and a body in grey, both around £50 down from over £300.
You have to try on! I do this in Selfridges and then try to find the same for less. It saves all the hassle of returns as I know the fit of the designers I am interested in. Check out Shop Instagram and Wear What I Wear where I have linked all my favourite pieces.
