Who on earth can guess what this Winter will bring?
Most of us have not, and will not, be doing the same things we were doing this time last year.
Looking at the fashion websites you’d think that nothing has changed. I had hoped that there would be more wearable and affordable pieces to choose from, but in truth, the pickings are slim.
I completely understand why we wear masks, but there’s no doubt that it takes away the joy from wandering around the shops, and no one that I know is doing it for fun and unless they have to.
So where to get inspiration?
Forget about social media etc.. just pick an evening, check out your own wardrobe and write a list:
Of what pieces you wear regularly, enjoy putting on and upgrade these to better versions.
Note the pieces you need to finish outfits.
Identify colours that lift your spirits.
Remind yourself of what you don’t wear. For me it’s all those skirts/dungarees/jumpsuits and trousers
Not exciting but this really deals with 90% of what you need. After this you can then look at the ‘Game Changers’.
By this I mean those items that truly elevates your wardrobe. It could be a piece of jewellery, a coat or bag. In my case I am on the hunt for an embellished coat that I can throw on and a tote (am obsessed with the Joseph one that I’m featuring below).
This ‘game changer’ piece I will only buy from the proceeds of clearing from my wardrobe first. We all have so many pieces which we just don’t wear so give them to charity or sell them. You can of course use my online shop Reloved Again for good pieces, just email me at contact@relovedagain.com.
Below are some of the items that have caught my eye this season:
