CLOGS – The Ultimate Edit
Yes, THE CLOG is back!!
In the past, I have bought and sold so many pairs. They have made me look like an extra from Woodstock, they have been too loud (that clip clop sound that drives everyone mad) and they’ve made my ankles look horrendous, oh, and then there’s the burning to the sole of my feet caused by the wooden soles!
So, what’s changed…
The key to buying a great clog is the following:
- Avoid anything with a simple wooden sole; they will make way too much noise on city streets (no problems if you are simply tending the tulip fields) so, look out for padding inside the sole of the clog
- Make sure they are slim line; anything too clumpy (unless you have tiny ankles and legs) will just not look flattering on you
- Decide what you are going to wear them with; in my case it’s joggers and leggings so a simple black pair works well. If you want to wear them with a summer dress then look for a nude colour
I bought a fabulous pair from Kate Spade in their sale. They were almost sold out but they tick all the boxes for me as they are soft soled, fitted and very quiet (absolutely no clip clopping). I also bought these £35 Everlane clog sandals for Spring ..
No one wears them better than Leandra and she is my inspiration on this trend.
Below are some of the others that I spotted and worth checking out.
